My story with this business started in 2006, in my future in-laws’ basement. Chris was running ASAP Engraving part-time, producing industrial tags on weekends. I started helping because spending a Sunday beveling tags was apparently the only way to see more of the guy I had just started dating. By 2008, I’d had enough of losing weekends to a basement operation. Following a particularly “productive” argument, I gave Chris two options: modernize the business and move it to our house, or I was done helping. He chose modernization. We upgraded the equipment, went digital and changed what the business could do — and what I could see it becoming. Maternity leave in 2010 gave me the opportunity to start asking a different question: What else can this machine do? That curiosity changed everything. A last-minute project pulled me into the wedding industry, unexpectedly landing in a European wedding magazine — including the cover — and opened an entirely different creative side of the business. I kept experimenting, designing and building while balancing my career and raising two young boys. By 2013, something had to give. I stepped away from my career and gave the business one year to prove what it could become. I never went back! In 2015, I rebranded as Engravables Design Studio and began building something that finally felt like mine. A decade later, it evolved again into Engravables Design — an identity that finally leaves room for everything the business has become. Today, my work moves from industrial identification to meaningful gifts, event experiences and creative direction. They may look like very different things, but the thinking behind them is the same.

I notice the details. I ask what else is possible. Then I figure out how to make it happen.
